Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung – AvH) enables highly-qualified foreign postdocs (academics and researchers), who are not older than 40 years, to come to Germany to complete a long-term research project.

Hertie scholarship programme at the Berliner Kolleg for comparative history of Europe „Vergleichende Geschichte Europas“ (BKVGE)
This is especially for highly-qualified historians from central- and East-European states, who want to do a doctor’s degree in Berlin. Further information can be found here.
Hertie scholarship programme at the Institute for Law and Finance (ILF)
The scholarship for ”LL.M Finance“ is aimed at highly-qualified and young post-graduates from central and East Europe with a specialisation in economics or law.
The degree programme „LL.M Finance“ at the institute for Law and Finance (ILF), Frankfurt am Main, is a year-long study course in English for economists and lawyers (PhDs with work experience) from all over Europe with a focus on the law of capital markets, banks and currency. Hertie Scholarship Programme at the Studienkolleg zu Berlin
The programme is aimed at students from all over Europe completing an Excellence Programme concerning European topics, in addition to a regular course of study at a university in Berlin or Brandenburg. Further information here.

Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg (Robert Bosch Stiftung)
Theodor Heuss Fellows are encouraged to take on democratic responsibility and to become involved in their native societies. Each year, we support up to 100 selected students from Germany and more than twenty Central and Eastern European countries in international summer seminars. They develop ideas and implement them in international project teams with the support of Theodor Heuss alumni who have been trained to do mentoring and teach seminars.

Catholic Academic Exchange Service: Eastern Europe Programme
The Catholic Academic Exchange Service (KAAD) is the scholarship agency of the Catholic Church in Germany. The Eastern Europe Programme is aimed at students, graduates, doctorate holders and holders of teaching qualifications at professorial level who submit a concrete study or research project and are able to justify the necessity of a stay in the Federal Republic of Germany. Projects that serve the restructuring and development processes, and the democratisation of Europe in a pluralistic manner are particularly sponsored. Further information here.

Duration: 1st March to 31st July each year
Students must be fluent in spoken German and possess excellent writing skills
Within this programme participants do an internship in the offices of members of the Bundestag. In addition to a three-month stint as an intern for a German MP - during which time participants enjoy wide-ranging access to committee hearings and party meetings. The programme also provides opportunities for cultural immersion, such as university courses (opportunity to take courses at Humboldt University in Berlin, the Free University of Berlin, or the Technical University of Berlin).
